Since June, we have been asking you “What do you love about living in Taos and why is that important to you?” and “What do you hope for the future?” You can read the complete Draft Community Values Report and Phase 1 Public Input Summary including what community concerns and hopes for the future were.
We want to know, did we hear you right?
Do these draft values represent what you love about your community?
So why do we want to get these values right? Well, they represent what you care most about in your community – the customs, characteristics and places that define Taos. Values provide a useful lens through which to view and consider future actions that may have a significant impact on the community. These values create a way for individuals, organizations, and the local government to work together to maintain what makes Taos special and to develop in a way that supports these values.
Complete this Community Values Feedback Form by Friday, December 1st to share your ideas. The form asks two questions for each value. First, what do you think of the value statement? On a scale from 1 to 5 with 1 being “Does not reflect our community at all, please redo it.” to 5 being “Nailed it! This is Taos!”. The second part asks if anything may be missing from that value or how the value statement can it be improved. After you review all the draft values, you will have an opportunity to add a value if we missed something important in the community.
In December, following a community meeting to be held November 27th, we will come back to you to ask for your feedback on an overall vision and goals.
Lastly, we ask that you help us evaluate whether we are reaching out to a diverse representation of the community by sharing with us some demographic information.
We think this will take you no more than 5-10 minutes. Thank you for helping Taos stay Strong At Heart!
